A look at Europe’s top defenders

So, the scout returns from his winter break looking to provide you with more talent from the Europe and beyond. This week sees the new @FourFourTweet website published to the world after a decent revamp from the #44T team.

With, the word ‘revamp’ in mind the scout is going to ‘revamp’ his search for the best young defenders following his report back in early Autumn.

Success

I’m pleased to say there have been some success stories that have developed from my previous report namely in the form of Raphael Varane who I tipped for a glittering future months before his debut for Los Blancos. Varane is now one of the first names on the Madrid team sheet. Pace, power and athleticism, I’m sure he will become one of the best defenders in the World in the coming years.

Mamadou Sakho has also fought his way back into the PSG team and is holding down a regular starting birth after falling out of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans early doors this season. He has also regained his place in the French National team.

Mateo Mussachio is first choice Villarreal centre back and is a talismanic figure in the clubs revival. Only a matter of time before the young centre back is snapped up by a bigger European club.

Nastacic

Then we have Man City centre back Matija Nastasic who has kept Kolo Toure, Joleon Lescott and Micah Richards on the bench for most of the season. He has put in a number of assuring performances week in week out for City.

After the success off my previous ‘Top European Defenders Review’ I am going pick out two more names that I think will be a Premier League player in the not too distant future.

Sebastian Corchia

The first name out of the two is highly rated Sochaux full back Sebastian Corchia, who, at 22 already has 150 senior appearances for French side in the top two divisions over in France. Corchia is a flamboyant, attacking full back come winger who isn’t afraid of bombing on down the by-line. His recent displays have seen him being linked with Newcastle (SHOCK), Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich. Corchia, born in Paris went to the prestigious Clairfontaine Academy as a youngster and was quickly snapped up by PSG. This season Corchia has won rave reviews for his performances in, what has been, a tough season for Sochaux which sees them fighting for their Ligue 1 status. By the looks of things, even if Sochaux stay up they will probably be left with no choice but to offload the player to a bigger team. Team #44T, watch this space.

Kyriakos Papadopoulos

The next player I’m going to look at is Manchester United bound and current Schalke 04 defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos. This lad has been on the radars of all the big teams in Europe recently, and, at 21 is a serious prospect for the future. Valued already at £15M he isn’t going to go anywhere on the cheap. Currently side-lined through injury the Greek lad is on the side-lines at present so isn’t being whispered about quite as much. However, when Papadopoulos returns he will continue to raise his awareness following impressive displays prior to his injuries. Papadopoulos is a strong player, good in the air and a great natural tackler, a proper defender! He is most definitely being groomed for the national captaincy in the future. Decent player with a big future once he returns from injury!

So the scout signs off with his usual top tip for the week to try and earn you a bit of ££££. Get on Kimi Raikkonen to lift the F1 drivers crown this year at 4/1.
