Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Pedro Rodriguez has ended speculation on his future, after agreeing a deal with Barcelona that will secure him to the Catalan outfit until 2019.
The 27-year-old winger had previously admitted he was assessing his options, with his current deal set to expire next year. However, Pedro has snubbed the potential interest of Premier League clubs to commit his future to his boyhood side.
Pedro, born in the Canary Islands, is a youth team product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia system and has made over 300 appearances since making his debut in 2008/09- whilst he has a wealth of honours in that time, including five La Liga titles and two Champions League crowns.
Arsenal and Liverpool, along with Manchester United and Chelsea, were said to be keen on bringing the World Cup winning forward to the Premier League, as speculation rose following the limited playing opportunities available to Pedro- who competes with South American trio Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi for a starting spot.
Pedro’s release clause has been confirmed at €150m.
