Arsenal sign Former England captain’s son
David Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn has allegedly signed a short-term deal for Arsenal
It is believed that Brooklyn Beckham, eldest son of David, could earn himself a professional contract for Premier League side Arsenal after being offered a short-term deal at the club.
The Beckham family have had a strong relationship with Arsenal football club, despite Beckham’s history with Manchester United and the legendary number 7’s two other sons represent the club at U10 and U13 level.
David was offered the chance to keep up his fitness during the interim between leaving LA Galaxy and his move to PSG by allowing the former Madrid man to train with the club.
According to the Daily Star, an Arsenal source said: ‘Brooklyn is talented and he has stood out in all of the training sessions and games he has played.
‘He has had other teams sniffing around and it was always going to be a case of when, not if, he was signed up by a big-name club.
‘Arsenal realise he can be a huge talent. They have seen that potential and protected their asset. The club has signed him, fending off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in the meantime. Next summer we may see him sign a big-money deal and with Arsenal.’
It is a regulation that players under the age of 17 can’t sign a professional, but clubs can reach pre-contract agreements with their targets. However, as of yet, there has been no official word from Arsenal or the Beckham’s as to whether the reports are true or not.
