Aston Villa have completed their first piece of summer transfer business with the capture of Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair on a four-year deal, arriving for an undisclosed fee.
The former Chelsea player, who had a horrendous few years at the Citizens, joins after a successful loan spell with Tim Sherwood’s side, where he has scored three goals in eleven appearances since making the move in January.
After making just three starts for Manchester City since his £8m arrival from Swansea City in 2012, Sinclair has fought hard to get his career back on track and was delighted with the confirmation of his transfer.
“This is the happiest I have been in a long time. I believe that will help me perform better and push on for this great club in the coming years.”
The 26-year-old, a former England U21 international, will now look ahead to his first full season with the club after helping them escape the threat of relegation and reach the FA Cup final, where they face holders Arsenal at the end of May.
