After a week off last Friday, we’re back again with five things you may like the look of this weekend.
Nike World Cup Mercurials – A Celebration of 20 Years
In celebration of it being 20 years since Ronaldo donned those legendary Mercurials at France 98’, Nike have released a new edition, which is available in both superfly (high-top) and vapor (low-top).
“In celebration of 20 years of Mercurial, NIKEiD is bringing back the iconic designs from football’s epic quadrennial tournament… but with a twist.”
The twist is they’re inspired by the boots they released in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014 – they bring their best work to the table when the biggest stage in football comes calling: The World Cup. Once again, Nike have produced the goods and some.
Chapecoense’s alternative kit for the 2018 season
This strip represents that football isn’t just about the game itself but a community that represents a unified language no matter what country you’re in. Chapecoense have launched an alternative strip this season that features the Colombian flag as a way of saying thank you for the support they received following the days of the horrific plane crash the club was involved in.
What’s more, each Brazilian club sponsored by Umbro will show support to a specific nation competing in the World Cup.
Chapecoense: Colombia 🇨🇴
Santos: England 🏴
Grêmio: Uruguay 🇺🇾
Avaí: France 🇫🇷
Atlético-PR: Spain 🇪🇸
Cruzeiro: Iceland 🇮🇸
Bahia: Russia 🇷🇺
The beautiful game!
