Laurent Koscielny’s contribution and importance to Arsenal is well known amongst the Gunners fan base but it seems only recently that the pundits and rival fans have picked up on just how important the French defender is to the North London giants.
Sky Sports showed a graphic on Monday Night Football, which showed the vast contrast to Arsenal with and without their talismanic defender this season- and it shows just how crucial Koscielny is to the Gunners.
Arsenal have played 11 games without Koscielny this season and have kept a clean sheet just twice in those fixtures, conceding 16 goals- which is just three less than Arsenal have conceded in 25 games with the Frenchman.
It also shows that Arsenal have conceded more than two goals just four times in the 25 games with Koscielny, whilst the Gunners conceded two or more goals in six of the 11 games he missed- which comes to a total of 1.5 goals a game.
Had Arsenal managed to keep Koscielny fit for the full Premier League campaign, it’s certainly possibly he could have led Arsenal to the Premier League title!
