Manchester City Eye £32m David Silva Successor

Manchester City have not given up in their pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder Isco, who they seem as the ideal successor to 29-year-old midfielder David Silva, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The 23-year-old, rated at around £32m, has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium for the past two-years due to his relationship with City boss Manuel Pellegrini, whom he excelled under with Malaga two years ago.

Whilst Isco has three-years remaining on his deal with the Madrid outfit, reports suggest he is unhappy with limited first-team opportunities- a situation which could only get worse under Rafael Benitez, who has vowed to build a team around Gareth Bale.

City, who will have to fight off interest from the Spanish giants in their striker Sergio Aguero this summer, are desperate to bring the midfielder to Manchester as part of their major squad overhaul this summer, as they look to contend amongst Europe’s finest next season.
