Manchester United are ready to test Real Madrid’s resolve in the transfer market by making a late move for Gareth Bale, according to ESPN.
The Red Devils have been linked with the Welshman since before he move to the Spanish capital in 2013 and it’s stated they now believe they have a chance of luring the Galatico back to English football; whilst also meeting Real’s demands.
Real Madrid continue to hold interest in goalkeeper David De Gea but United indicated they would only sell if Sergio Ramos came the other way. With the defender signing a new deal with the Spanish giants, such a transfer was dead in the water.
However, suggestions now indicate that United could be prepared to alter their stance and offer a tempting deal for Bale- which could include De Gea, with Sergio Romero considered a decent enough replacement for the Spaniard.
Whether Real would agree to such a bid remains to be seen, as Florentino Perez sees Bale as an integral part of his project at the Spanish club- and Rafael Benitez seemingly has a new spot for him, playing him through the middle in the goalless draw with Sporting Gijon.
