Premier League Betting Tips 07.12.13
There are three games in the Premier League that take our fancy this weekend, they are; Man United v Newcastle, Stoke v Chelsea and Southampton v Man City.
Man United v Newcastle
In Saturday’s early kick off, Newcastle travel to Old Trafford, there they have picked up just one point from a possible eighteen in the league. Without Van Persie and Rooney, there is no doubt that United will struggle creatively in the final third and may fail to put Newcastle away the longer the game is level. In the league, Newcastle have been hit and miss away from home, winning three and losing four and even though they come into the game off the back of a 3-0 defeat to Swansea, we still think they have what it takes to take something away from Old Trafford.
Five of United’s last seven home games have resulted in under 2.5 goals and we reckon that will become six from eight on Saturday. Under2.5 goals is on offer at 11/8 with William Hill here
Stoke v Chelsea
If you didn’t already know, Chelsea have an incredible record against Stoke. They have won seven of their nine meetings, the other two finishing all square. What’s astonishing is that Jose Mourinho’s men have kept seven clean sheets against the Potters in their last eight meetings and we fancy that trend to continue on Saturday. Even though Stoke have been fairly impressive so far at the Britannia this season, we think that Chelsea to win to nil is a decent bet considering their recent record against Stoke, on offer at 11/8 here
Southampton v Man City
Man City look to have sorted their form out away from the Etihad with a decent win at the Hawthorns on Wednesday. Southampton have lost three on the bounce and it could be argued that teams are now used to their high intensity pressing game. Although Southampton beat City 3-1 in the repeat fixture last season, we can’t see the Saints getting anything from this game. The bet we like the look of for this fixture is both teams to score and City to win. It’s on available at 5/2 here
