Tottenham Hotspur have shifted their focus to Manchester United’s Ashley Young, according to The Daily Mirror, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to improve upon his wide options at White Hart Lane.
The Argentine boss is extremely keen on Crystal Palace’s Yannick Bolasie, who is said to favour a move across London, but the Eagles are remaining firm and are demanding a whopping £25m to prize the Congolese midfielder from their clutches.
Pochettino is therefore said to be considering other options and Young is a top priority, with his future uncertain due to the fact he is yet to sign a new deal- but his £110k-a-week wages mean he would have to accept a pay-cut to sign for Spurs.
Tottenham will offset their spending with the sales of Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend, who are attracting Everton and Aston Villa respectively, but Daniel Levy’s side are not prepared to offload either player until a replacement has been drafted in.
Pochettino is also looking to offload Vlad Chiriches, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado this summer, amongst others.
