West Brom Out To Prove They Have The Premier League’s Loudest Fans
After West Brom’s fantastic victory at home to Arsenal last Saturday the club’s online betting partner, Netbet, intend to do all they can to secure the North London home double by continuing their passionate #MakeSomeNoise campaign with a massive push on Saturday 5th December when they host Spurs at The Hawthorns.
West Brom fans are commonly seen as amongst the most passionate and loudest fans in the Premier League. An official survey compiled by the Press Association in November 2014 rated Baggies fans as joint second loudest fans in the league, in terms of decibels (78 dB), together with the coming visitors Spurs, behind surprising winners Manchester United (84 dB).
In order to shake up this league, Netbet will encourage WBA fans to overcome Spurs on the pitch and in the decibel stakes, and at least secure second spot in the table outright! The Netbet bus and girls will be out in more force than ever before to focus on generating a big wall of noise at 3pm and will hand out megaphones and much, much more on the day.
John Homer Chairman of the Albion Official Supporters Club said: “This is a fun initiative that we are supporting. Helping bringing more passion and enthusiasm to the stadium from a fan point of view is very positive for the game. We have amazing and committed supporters here at WBA and we would love to see them topping the noise level chart”.
Leading the Netbet #MakeSomeNoise is Master of Ceremonies Greg Scott, and official recordings of the decibel levels at the ground will be taken at the match.
“West Brom are the joint second loudest fans in the Premier League with Spurs at 78 dB,” said Greg. “After the match on Saturday 5th December we expect this statistic to be history and prove that West Brom have the noisiest fans in the league, beating Manchester United’s record of 84 dB. The roar that greeted the win over Arsenal on Saturday and Santi Cazorla’s penalty miss was something to behold – we outgunned the Gunners now lets blunt Spurs! Let’s really get behind Tony’s boys to secure the North London double and break the sound barrier at kick-off at the same time”, added Greg.
“We have realistic expectations around what we can achieve, how about being noisier than 170 dB and the sound of a rocket taking off”, quipped the colourful Master of Ceremonies.
